Expert Hot Water & Plumbing

Emergency hot water

No hot water? Don’t make a fifteen-year decision in a cold shower

Call us and tell us what has happened. Where we can, we will get a temporary solution running so you have time to choose a replacement properly.

What we will ask you

  • What type of system you have, if you know
  • What it is doing, or not doing
  • Whether there is water where there should not be
  • How many people are in the house
  • Your suburb, so we know what we can get to

First things first

The most expensive hot water system is the one you buy in a panic

When a system fails, the pressure is to solve it in the next four hours. That pressure is precisely how households end up with a unit that does not suit the house, at a price nobody compared, with the rebate paperwork skipped because there was no time.

Our preference is different. Call us, tell us what has happened, and where it is possible we will get a temporary solution running so the showers work. Then you choose the permanent system with a clear head, at a fixed price, with the rebate you are entitled to.

We will be straight with you about what we can reach and when. If we cannot get to you in a useful timeframe, we will say so on the phone rather than leave you waiting on a maybe.

If you can see or hear water escaping, turn the water supply to the unit off at the isolation valve if you can safely reach it, and switch the unit off at the power point or circuit breaker. Then call us.

What happens next

  • We work out whether it is a fault or the end of the system
  • Where possible, a temporary solution to restore hot water
  • A fixed-price quote on the permanent fix, unrushed
  • Rebate eligibility checked properly, not skipped

Questions

What people ask about this

Are you a 24 hour emergency plumber?

We are a heat pump hot water specialist, not a 24/7 general emergency plumbing service, and we would rather tell you that than have you waiting on a call that is not coming. Call us and we will tell you honestly what we can do and when.

Can you get hot water back on today?

Sometimes, depending on what has failed, what is in stock and where you are. The point of calling is that we tell you the real answer quickly, rather than you finding out at 6pm.

What is a temporary solution?

An interim arrangement that restores hot water to the house while you decide on the permanent system, rather than an emergency swap to whatever unit happens to be available. What is possible depends on your site, and we will explain the options for your specific situation.

My system is leaking. What do I do right now?

If it is safe to do so, isolate the water supply to the unit and turn the power off to it at the switchboard or power point, then call us. Do not attempt to open or drain a hot water unit yourself.
