What you get

One price, one crew, one visit for most homes

We install roughly 500 to 600 heat pump hot water systems a year. That volume is the reason the process is boring, which is exactly what you want on install day.

A quote from photos, not a sales visit

For most homes a few photos of your existing unit, the surrounding space and your switchboard is enough to quote from. We only come out first when the job genuinely calls for it.

Sizing based on your household

How many people live there, how many bathrooms, and when you actually use hot water. Undersizing is the single most common reason people end up unhappy with a heat pump.

Electrical work included

Circuit and switchboard requirements checked before quoting, and the Electrical Safety Certificate issued where applicable. No second trade to chase.

Old system removed and recycled

Your old unit leaves with us. You are not left with a decommissioned tank on the side of the house waiting for hard rubbish.

Rebates deducted, not estimated

We confirm what you are eligible for, take it off the quoted price, and submit the documentation on your behalf.

Certificates issued properly

Plumbing Compliance Certificate every time, Electrical Safety Certificate where applicable, and rebate photos taken correctly on the day.

All-in-one or split

Two shapes of heat pump, and the honest difference

An all-in-one system puts the compressor and the tank in a single unit, the way a fridge is a single unit. It is simpler to install, usually cheaper to buy, and it wants a sensible spot outside with airflow around it. On site, a standard all-in-one install typically takes about 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

A split system separates the compressor from the tank, so the noisy part can sit away from a bedroom window and the tank can go where the tank makes sense. There is more to it: extra refrigerant lines, compressor and controller wiring. A standard split install typically takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

Neither is better in the abstract. Which one suits comes down to where the old unit sits, what is on the other side of that wall, how far the tank is from the bathrooms, and what you are trying to spend. We will tell you which we would put on our own house and why. More on the brands we install.

From first photo to hot water

Tell us about your system
Send a few photos of your current unit, the space around it and your switchboard. For most homes that is all we need to quote.
A fixed-price quote
One price covering supply, installation, removal of the old system, commissioning and certificates. Any rebate you are eligible for is already deducted.
Install day
All-in-one systems usually take 1.5 to 2.5 hours on site. Split systems 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Your old system leaves with us for recycling.
Certificates, then support
Compliance certificates and rebate paperwork are handled and sent through, and we walk you through running the system. We are still here when you call later.

What people ask about this

Can you install a heat pump where my old gas unit was?

Usually, but not always. A heat pump needs airflow around it and it makes some noise while running, so a spot that was fine for a sealed gas unit tucked into a side passage may not be fine for a compressor. It also needs electrical supply, which a gas unit did not. That is exactly what we are checking when we ask for photos of the space around the unit and your switchboard.

Do I need to be home on install day?

Someone over 18 needs to be there to give us access and to take the handover at the end, where we walk through how to run the system. You do not need to supervise the work.

Which brands do you install?

Reclaim Energy, Panasonic, Stiebel Eltron, Earthworker, Haier, Thermann and Aquatech. We install a deliberately short list rather than whatever is cheapest that month, because knowing a short list deeply is worth more to you than knowing fifteen loosely. More on each brand.

Is there a warranty?

The system carries the manufacturer's warranty, which varies by brand and by component, and our installation work carries a workmanship warranty. The specific terms for the system you choose are set out in your quote rather than generalised here.

What if the job turns out to be different once you open things up?

We stop and talk to you before anything changes. Quotes are fixed on the scope we assessed, and variations get discussed and agreed rather than appearing at the bottom of an invoice.
